Hello Friends!

I trust you all had a wonderful 4th of July holiday weekend. I know I sure did. You’ll find a recap of my day further down in this newsletter.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those supporters who have volunteered on my campaign over the last week. From phone banks, to mailers, to marching in parades, we needed a lot of help and I am truly grateful that so many of you stepped up to volunteer. It is this kind of effort that makes my campaign for Congress possible.

Thank you so much!!
~ Bill

Independence Day Recap

What a great 4th of July we had!! We managed to make stops all over the District. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to be at all the events, but we were able to have a campaign presence at the big events throughout District 15.

I started off the morning in Sebastian for their wonderful Independence Day parade. What a fantastic turnout they had!! Thousands of people lined the mile and a half parade route. I would like to commend the City of Sebastian, the Lions Club, and all their volunteers for putting on such a wonderful event. Of course, a huge thank you also goes out to all my supporters who marched in the parade with me.

Due to the timing of the parades, I wasn’t able to make it to the Melbourne 4th of July parade, but I did have a truck and some supporters walking in the parade on behalf of the Bill Posey for Congress campaign. They passed out hundreds of bottles of water to some very grateful (and thirsty!) parade watchers.

After the Sebastian parade, I made my way up to Rockledge for their 22nd Annual Independence Day Family Picnic at McLarty Park. This picnic never raises their prices on food – it’s an unbelievable $1 for a hamburger or hot dog, chips, and a drink. That’s not a typo - only $1! You can’t beat that. Not to mention it’s a whole lot of fun for the whole family.

Meanwhile, some of my campaign staff journeyed over to St. Cloud to attend their Lakefront Celebration at Lakefront Park. They had a great time sign waving and hanging out with the Osceola County Republican supporters.

I ended the 4th by attending the City of Cocoa’s Independence Day Celebration at Riverfront Park. They had a free concert by the Brevard Symphony Orchestra followed by an awesome fireworks display. Mayor Blake, the City of Cocoa, and the City of Rockledge deserve to be recognized for putting on such a wonderful evening.

Volunteer Opportunities

We’re looking for more volunteers this week. We have two events this Saturday and we’ll need people to man booths and hand out literature and bumper stickers:

The first event is the 6th Annual Hispanic Business Expo & Trade Fair in Melbourne at the Eau Gallie Civic Center from 12 to 6 pm. Obviously, we’re not asking for volunteers to stay the whole six hours, but if you can spare an hour we’d appreciate the help. Later that day, we’ll be at the Indian River Republican Rally at the Vero Beach Heritage Center from 4:30 until 8:00 pm.

We also have an ongoing need for volunteers to work on mailers and phone banks. And don’t forget – our yard signs are in!!

If you’d like to volunteer or for more information, please call Ashley Hughes at (321) 254-6282 or email her at ahughes@billposey.com.
