Hello Friends,
I don’t mean to clog your inboxes with lots of emails, but I felt this was too important to wait until next week. I hope that you agree!
God Bless!

Do Nothing Congress Votes to go on Recess
I find it unconscionable that Congress voted to adjourn, setting up a five week recess beginning today and lasting until September 8th, without addressing escalating oil prices. I do not understand how they can keep their heads in the sand and vote to go on vacation for 5 weeks when the average American can barely afford to fill up his gas tank.
House Republican leaders have repeatedly called for Congress to stay in session until their “all of the above” energy legislation is passed. The bill will increase the supply of American-made energy, improve conservation and efficiency, and promote renewable and alternative energy technologies.
This is exactly why the American people do not trust anything about Congress. They do nothing and then take a vacation without so much as debating a common sense energy bill. When we talk about making government accountable, it’s got to start with the individual Congressmen and women. The inaction of the House Leadership is just inexcusable.
Some members are accusing Republicans of crying only “drill, drill, drill”, as I myself have been quoted, but the reality is I support a comprehensive energy bill which promotes alternative fuel sources such as wind, solar, and hydrogen; increased conservation and efficiency; all in addition to increased domestic drilling.
If we want energy independence, we must consider all of our domestic resources. And we must do it now!!!
